What is natural gas?

It’s a fossil-based energy, with methane being its main component, and among its applications we find its use as fuel for vehicles (NGV: Natural Gas Vehicle).

NGV is an economically and environmentally clean fuel for vehicular use, considered a sustainable alternative to liquid fuels. Some of its characteristics are:
 

  • NGV is safe, as it disperses in the air in case of possible leaks
  • It’s transported by pipelines, making it more ecological by not requiring polluting vehicles
  • When consumed by the engine, it doesn’t generate odors associated with combustion
  • It’s stored in certified cylinders with protection devices that activate in case of leaks or fires
